Remo and Grêmio drew 1-1 in Brazil's 29th-round league match in Belém on October 7. David Braga equalized in the 42nd minute of the second half after Walter Kannemann scored in first-half stoppage time.
Both teams are near the bottom of the table and fighting to stay in the top division. Grêmio took the lead from a corner in first-half stoppage time, when the ball fell to Kannemann inside the area.
Remo appealed for a penalty early in the match after Yago Pikachu's cross struck Kannemann's hand in the box. Referee Davi de Oliveira Lacerda did not award one. Grêmio had several chances to extend its lead after halftime, but David Braga headed in a late equalizer.
The draw gave each side one point. Remo moved to 24 points, while Grêmio remained in the relegation zone. Internacional beat Corinthians on the same matchday and moved above Grêmio in the standings.
