Gunba orders smooth citrus exports through Psou crossing

Abkhaz President Badra Gunba ordered agencies at the Psou border crossing to ensure unobstructed citrus exports to Russia during the harvest season, his press office said on October 17.
At a meeting in the presidential administration, he called for daily monitoring of border conditions and continuing contact with Russian counterparts until the citrus season ends.
Abkhazia's Agriculture Ministry provisionally estimates the citrus harvest at about 40,000 tonnes, including roughly 38,000 tonnes of mandarins.
Commercial shipments to Russia are expected to begin in late October. Abkhazia exported 34,000 tonnes of mandarins there last year.
