Investigators open case after reports of sick kindergarten children in Barnaul

Russia's Investigative Committee opened a criminal case after reports that more than ten kindergarten children in Barnaul complained of vomiting in one day, the agency said on October 17.
The case concerns services that fail to meet safety requirements under Article 238 of the Criminal Code. The committee said parents suspected a link to food served at the kindergarten and requested checks on products.
Katun24 had earlier reported that an older preschool group at kindergarten No. 251 was quarantined following a rotavirus outbreak.
Investigative Committee chairman Alexander Bastrykin instructed regional investigation chief Igor Kolesnichenko to report on the inquiry's progress.
