Iran's Guards say supertanker caught fire after hitting mine

Iran's Revolutionary Guards navy said on October 17 that a supertanker caught fire after hitting a naval mine in the Persian Gulf region, Tasnim reported.
The Iranian statement said the vessel carried more than two million barrels of oil, had switched off its transponders and followed a route not agreed with Tehran.
The Guards described it as the second supertanker to hit a mine on October 17 and said the explosion occurred in its engine room.
