South Carolina end eight-game SEC losing streak by beating Florida

South Carolina defeated Florida 38-19 in college football on October 10, ending an eight-game losing streak in the Southeastern Conference.

Quarterback LaNorris Sellers passed for 279 yards and accounted for five touchdowns, four passing and one rushing. Shane Beamer's team secured its first conference victory in 378 days.

Florida opened the scoring on Bailey Stockton's 59-yard touchdown reception but trailed 17-10 at halftime. In the third quarter, Sellers threw a 26-yard touchdown to Donovan Murph before scoring on a one-yard run.

The visitors forced three turnovers and limited Florida's rushing attack. Jon Sumrall's Gators suffered a second consecutive defeat after losing to Missouri.

The game in Gainesville included a celebration of Steve Spurrier and Florida's 1966 team. South Carolina won at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium for only the third time in its history.
