Psychotherapist Anatoly Kashpirovsky asked that after cremation part of his ashes be buried beside his mother in Vinnytsia, while the rest remained in Russia, his nephew Yuri Mamaev told RBC.
Mamaev stressed that his uncle’s wish was rooted in family circumstances, not politics. He also accused people around Kashpirovsky of isolating him and arranging appearances despite his declining health.
Kashpirovsky died on Oct. 3 at age 87. The cause was cardiac arrest. A farewell ceremony was held on Oct. 8 at the memorial hall of Moscow’s Troekurovskoye Cemetery. Dozens attended, including his widow, Gulizar Chalbashova.
Kashpirovsky’s director, Sergei Rudykh, said the burial would be private. The family will not disclose the burial site, in accordance with the deceased’s wishes.
