Rama Rao seeks action over Gajwel officer’s exchange with farmer

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao called for action against a Gajwel revenue officer after a video of his exchange with a farmer circulated. The officer said the recording was old and concerned a land compensation dispute.

In a statement on Saturday, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader asked Telangana’s chief secretary to examine the matter and take appropriate action. The Hindu reported that he condemned alleged insults directed at farmers seeking help with a land problem.

The Siasat Daily separately reported his response and reproduced his October 10 post on X. It also relayed an explanation that officer P.H. Swamy gave to Times of India, linking the disagreement to compensation for land for the Regional Ring Road project.

Swamy said a family dispute had delayed payment and that compensation was credited after the dispute was resolved. He maintained that the video was recorded earlier. The politician’s fresh response therefore does not establish when the exchange occurred, and his demand for action does not itself establish misconduct.
