Kuban resident fined for failing to report railway cabinet arson

Kurganinsk District Court in Russia's Krasnodar region fined a local resident 60,000 roubles for failing to report a terrorist act. The judgment has taken legal effect, the regional courts' press service said on October 16.

The court found that the friends invited him to travel with them to Kurganinsk in October 2025. He agreed without knowing the purpose. Near the Kurgannaya–Koshekhabl railway section, they asked him to wait.

On returning, they showed him a phone video of a railway relay cabinet being set alight. The court found that he thereby learned reliably of the crime but did not inform the authorities.

He was convicted under Article 205.6 of Russia's Criminal Code. He admitted guilt and expressed remorse during the hearing.

Regional Federal Security Service officers identified three Kurganinsk district residents as involved in the arson. A separate criminal investigation into their alleged conduct is under way.
