Kyiv metro resumes service after brief power interruption

Kyiv’s metro resumed service on all three lines after a brief interruption on October 14, according to metro spokesperson Oksana Nykyforuk. She told Ukrainian agency UNN that trains were again carrying passengers normally.

The stoppage affected the red, blue and green lines. Nykyforuk attributed it to a loss of voltage from external power sources and said the interruption lasted only a few minutes.

RIA Novosti’s initial report, citing Strana.ua, described a suspension across the network without identifying a cause. The metro’s subsequent explanation established that the disruption was temporary and that service had resumed.

Kyiv has experienced repeated interruptions to metro and surface electric transport services during power outages this month. The latest incident occurred amid electricity supply problems, with UNN reporting damage to energy facilities and emergency outages in parts of the city.
