Mail says services operating normally after user complaints

Mail said its services were operating normally after widespread complaints about disruptions on October 14. Users had reported problems accessing email, accounts, the app and website that morning.

Detector404 recorded more than 5,500 complaints in the hour to 11:44 Moscow time and more than 7,000 over the preceding day. Reports began around 11:00. These figures represent submissions to the monitoring service, rather than an established count of affected users.

The largest number of reports came from St Petersburg. Complaints were also recorded in Moscow and the Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Leningrad regions. The figures describe a morning snapshot, not service availability throughout the day.

Mail’s press service subsequently said its services were operating normally. PRIME and Kommersant reported the company’s statement. Those reports did not establish the cause of the difficulties or any connection with events affecting other internet companies.
