Man remanded over nephew's killing in Pushkino inheritance dispute
A 55-year-old man in Pushkino near Moscow has been remanded in custody on a charge of killing his 33-year-old nephew. Investigators attribute the killing to a long-running inheritance dispute, regional Investigative Committee spokeswoman Olga Vrady said.
Investigators allege that the accused struck his nephew several times with an awl during an argument at a house on Prishvina Passage on October 12. The victim died from his injuries.
According to the investigation, the man then took the body to a nearby wooded strip and put it in a drainage collector. The victim's wife reported him missing.
Vrady said the accused confessed during questioning and attributed the killing to the inheritance dispute.
Investigators have examined the scene, conducted interviews and ordered forensic examinations. Evidence gathering is continuing.
