Maresca to assess Haaland's fitness before AEK match

Erling Haaland could play for Manchester City against AEK in the Champions League, manager Enzo Maresca said. A final decision depends on an assessment of the striker's fitness.

The Norwegian took a knock to his foot in City's 3:2 win over Ipswich on October 17 and was seen limping after the match.

Ahead of the AEK game, Maresca said Haaland would be assessed after training. The manager had not announced a final decision on his involvement.

Antoine Semenyo was also injured against Ipswich. Maresca estimates that he will need about eight weeks to recover.

City host AEK at the Etihad Stadium on October 20 in the Champions League league phase.
