MAX plans discussion threads for first quarter of 2027

MAX plans to introduce discussion threads in the first quarter of 2027. Multiple pinned messages in chats and stories in channels should arrive sooner, chief executive Farit Khusnoyarov said on October 9.

He announced the plans at the Digital Solutions forum during a Rosmolodyozh session on technology and youth policy. He acknowledged that some user-requested functions were still missing. No exact launch dates were given for multiple pins or channel stories.

Khusnoyarov reported 140 million registrations and 90 million daily users. These company-reported figures measure different aspects of platform use.

He said product updates arrive weekly and the team intends to focus more on quality. The forum runs at the Russia National Centre on October 6–10. The announcement outlines planned features, rather than confirming they are all available.
