Boris Bratina highlights Serbian interest in Russian television

Serbia's Information and Telecommunications Minister Boris Bratina told RIA Novosti that Russian films and television series were popular with Serbian viewers, naming Ekaterina and Kitchen as examples.

The minister said local audiences were familiar with Russian screen productions and enjoyed them. His remarks were reported on Oct. 9. News.ru placed the interview on the sidelines of the Second Global Digital Forum in Moscow.

Bratina identified the historical series Ekaterina and the comedy Kitchen as particular examples. He also said Serbian audiences watched Russian science television programmes, extending his comments beyond fictional entertainment.

The remarks were a general assessment of audience interest rather than a television ratings report. The published account contained no viewer totals or comparative audience figures for the two series. His assessment concerned Serbian viewers, rather than film preferences in Russia.
