Adam Edstrom scores twice as Nashville defeats Montreal

Nashville Predators beat Montreal Canadiens 5-2 on the road in the NHL regular season, with Adam Edstrom scoring twice as the hosts suffered a third consecutive defeat.

Alexander Kerfoot, Ryan O'Reilly and Matthew Wood also scored for Nashville. Nick Suzuki and Alex Newhook supplied Montreal's goals, leaving the visitors with four different scorers and the hosts with two.

The Predators recovered from a 2-0 deficit with five unanswered goals. Both Edstrom goals came into an empty net late in the game as Montreal tried to recover.

Nashville had five points after four games, while Montreal had three from the same number of appearances. Sport-Express listed the Predators eighth in the Western Conference and the Canadiens twelfth in the Eastern Conference at publication.

The game was played in Montreal on the evening of Oct. 8 local time. Russian schedules date it Oct. 9 because of the time difference.
