Magnitogorsk’s Metallurg beat Vladivostok’s Admiral 3-0 in a regular-season KHL game, the team’s first since head coach Andrei Razin was temporarily suspended.
Nikita Mikhailis scored in the 29th minute, Nathan Todd in the 38th and Vladimir Tkachev in the 59th. Hockey outlet Shaiba.kz separately reported the 3-0 result and the same goal scorers.
Metallurg suspended Razin from team duties a day earlier following a dispute with players. Club director Alexei Zhloba said disagreements involved both playing matters and the way the coach interacted with the team. Assistant Vladimir Vorobyov was named acting head coach.
The win lifted Metallurg to 21 points and kept the club atop the KHL’s Eastern Conference. Admiral remained eighth with 11 points. Metallurg’s next game is against Salavat Yulaev on October 9, while Admiral is scheduled to face Lada Togliatti the following day.
