Mironov proposes free clubs and sports sections for children across Russia

Party leader Sergey Mironov proposed a network of free extracurricular clubs and sports sections in every Russian region for schoolchildren and preschoolers. He outlined the initiative to RIA Novosti on October 10.
Mironov listed technical clubs, artificial intelligence, robotics and model aircraft among priority fields. He also emphasized access to music, drawing and stage performance for children with different interests.
He argued that extracurricular education should be entirely free, linking its importance to the role of childhood interests and abilities in later choices.
Accessibility within walking distance is another element of his proposal. Mironov suggested locating clubs not only in schools but also on the ground floors of residential buildings in place of some cafes, delivery outlets and shops.
For children’s sport, he proposed combining free sections with the provision of equipment and clothing. His statement is a political initiative concerning extracurricular education.
