Montenegro formally notifies Russia of November visa requirement

Montenegro has formally notified Russia that visa-free travel will end on November 1, Russian Ambassador Alexander Lukashik said, according to TASS.

The intergovernmental agreement on mutual travel, signed on September 24, 2008, will cease to apply from that date, the ambassador said.

Russians will be able to enter with a Montenegrin visa or visas from certain other countries, including Schengen states, according to Lukashik.

The November visa requirement had previously been set out in a decree published by Montenegro’s government.
