Moscow court fines Boris Grebenshchikov 15,000 rubles

A district court found the musician guilty of participating in the activities of an undesirable organization. The case stemmed from a video interview posted on Meduza's YouTube channel, Vedomosti reported.

The Khoroshevsky District Court fined Grebenshchikov 15,000 rubles under Article 20.33 of Russia's Administrative Code, the newspaper said, citing the Moscow courts' press service. The case concerned a video interview with the musician published on Meduza's YouTube channel.

Boris Grebenshchikov was added to Russia's foreign-agent register in June 2023. In October last year, he was separately fined 40,000 rubles for violating the rules governing foreign agents. He left Russia in 2020 and lives in London, NTV reported.

In March 2026, it became known that Grebenshchikov had obtained British citizenship. The new fine concerns participation in the activities of an undesirable organization, rather than the earlier administrative penalty related to foreign-agent rules.
