Moscow court orders Morgenshtern removed from apartment registration

Moscow’s Savyolovsky District Court granted an apartment owner’s request to remove rapper Alisher Morgenshtern from the property’s residential register, the court told RIA Novosti.

According to the report, the woman bought the apartment from the musician before he left Russia. Morgenshtern had promised to cancel his registration himself, but remained registered at the address after the sale. The buyer went to court to resolve the issue.

The rapper’s representatives did not attend the hearing. A lawyer appeared for the claimant. A court representative told the news agency that the request to remove Alisher Tagirovich Morgenshtern from the residential register had been granted.

The ruling concerns registration at a property that had already been sold. The report did not provide information about whether the decision had entered into legal force or whether an appeal had been lodged.

Morgenshtern has lived outside Russia for the past several years. Russia’s Justice Ministry placed him on its foreign agent register in the spring of 2022.
