Moscow reports eightfold rise in pharmaceutical substance output at Sputnik Technopolis

Sputnik Technopolis increased pharmaceutical substance production eightfold in 2026 compared with the previous year, Anatoly Garbuzov, head of Moscow’s investment and industrial policy department, said on October 16.
Garbuzov said the plant was developing production of a treatment for leukaemia, lymphoma and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as a medicine for head and neck cancer. The reported increase concerns pharmaceutical substances used in making medicines.
The department’s press service said the plant makes an antitumour and immunomodulatory medicine through a complete production cycle, from substance manufacture to packaging. It also operates its own research centre.
Most medicines produced by the plant are on Russia’s list of vital and essential medicines. According to the department, medical institutions in Moscow and other regions use its products.
