Nearly 10,000 school pupils study remotely in Bryansk border districts

A total of 9,971 school pupils and 2,221 vocational students are studying remotely in seven border municipalities of Russia's Bryansk region. The regional government provided RIA Novosti with the figures, which are dated October 12.

Regional authorities reported the teaching arrangements on October 14. Remote classes cover 71 schools. The authorities attributed the restrictions to the security situation in areas close to the national border.

Remote classes are being held in the Klimovsky, Pogarsky, Sevsky, Suzemsky and Trubchevsky districts, as well as the Starodubsky and Novozybkovsky municipal areas.

Within those municipalities, 37 general education institutions continue in person teaching for 5,092 pupils.

The districts and municipal areas have eight vocational institutions with a combined 2,455 students. Six provide remote classes for 2,221 students.
