Novosibirsk police investigate assault on woman holding a child

Police in Novosibirsk are investigating an assault by a man on his wife while she was holding a young child. Officers accepted a statement from the woman, the regional Interior Ministry said.

According to the ministry, National Guard officers brought the man to the Kirovsky police station. The report concerned an attack in the entrance hall of an apartment building in the city’s Kirovsky district.

Officers drew up an administrative offence report under Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences, covering petty hooliganism. The ministry said a decision on the woman’s complaint would follow the investigation.
