One person injured in Moscow apartment fire

A fire in an apartment on Moscow’s Leninsky Prospekt was extinguished, with one person injured. The city’s Emergencies Ministry office reported the incident on October 9.
The ministry said the blaze broke out in an apartment in a residential building and firefighters promptly extinguished it. Its initial statement did not specify the cause or the nature of the person’s injuries.
The Moscow news agency, cited by Kommersant, said the apartment was on the tenth floor of a 16-storey building. The fire affected 20 square metres.
Twenty people evacuated the building. According to the agency, the injured person was the apartment owner. The report provided no details about subsequent treatment.
The ministry’s statement concerns a fire that had already been extinguished. The evacuation figure is not an injury count: the ministry reported one person injured.
