Paris police use tear gas at Place de la République gathering
Paris police used tear gas grenades to disperse an undeclared demonstration at Place de la République on October 18, BFMTV reported.
Dozens of people gathered following calls on social media to continue the protests, according to the broadcaster. Police were deployed to the square and used tear gas to disperse the participants.
Large demonstrations against the rising cost of living took place across France the previous day. Saturday's protests included clashes with police, cars being set on fire and damage to shops.
