Passengers on flights diverted to Minsk depart for Russia

Russian passengers whose flights from Turkey were diverted to Minsk have left for home by bus and train, the Russian embassy in Belarus said on October 18.

Transport to their destinations was arranged with help from Belarusian agencies and transport organisations.

Earlier that day, Minsk received two charter flights operated by Turkish airlines after flight restrictions were imposed at Russian airports. Embassy staff assisted the passengers and worked with the Belarusian side to arrange hot meals.

The embassy thanked Belarus's Transport Ministry, Belarusian Railway and Minsk National Airport for helping organise the return journey.
