Podemos and Frente Amplio fail to agree nationwide Spanish election alliance

Spain's Podemos and the Frente Amplio coalition have failed to agree a nationwide alliance for the November 29 parliamentary election.
Spanish outlets reported the outcome on October 17. Joint lists were agreed only in the Canary Islands and the Valencian Community.
Frente Amplio includes Movimiento Sumar, Izquierda Unida, Mas Madrid and Catalunya en Comu. In Madrid and Catalonia, the alliance and Podemos will stand separately.
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez called the early election after dissolving parliament in early October. Politico said the split among parties to the Socialists' left complicates the formation of a majority that would keep Sanchez in office.
