Polyanskiy urges Western countries to influence Kyiv over infrastructure strikes

Russia’s permanent representative to the OSCE, Dmitry Polyanskiy, urged Western countries to influence the Ukrainian authorities and warned of further destruction of Ukraine’s infrastructure. The Russian mission’s press service circulated his remarks on October 10.
Polyanskiy accused Kyiv’s supporters of applying double standards. He said they had welcomed strikes on Russian infrastructure but condemned attacks on comparable facilities in Ukraine.
The diplomat listed bridges, power stations, railway facilities and warehouses. He called on Western governments to settle their position on such strikes and linked his appeal for pressure on Kyiv to the preservation of Ukrainian infrastructure.
As preceding context, Lenta.ru cited a report of a conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump. According to that account, the Russian president said the objectives of his military operation were unchanged and that Ukrainian strikes deep inside Russia would not halt the advance of Russian troops.
