Putin congratulates Uralvagonzavod on its 90th anniversary

Vladimir Putin sent anniversary greetings to Uralvagonzavod's staff and veterans. In a telegram reported on October 9, the Russian president highlighted the company's fulfilment of state defence orders and production of civilian goods.

Putin said the company manufactures military and special-purpose equipment that helps Russian service members carry out tasks during what Moscow calls its special military operation. He praised the corporation's use of advanced scientific and management solutions to fulfil state defence orders on time. He also described its civilian products as technologically advanced and competitive.

The president linked the enterprise's history to milestones in the development of Russian industry and the defence sector. He credited production organisers, scientists, designers, engineers, specialists and workers with those achievements. In particular, he highlighted factory workers' dedication in establishing tank production quickly during the Second World War and their contribution to creating the Ural Volunteer Tank Corps.

Putin said the current workforce was continuing the company's professional traditions. He thanked employees and veterans for their work and wished them success and further achievements. According to Rostec, the plant dates its founding to October 11, 1936, when its first heavy-duty railway wagons came off the production line.
