Brisbane forecast warns of Tuesday thunderstorms and cooler days
Brisbane faces a high chance of showers and thunderstorms on October 13, according to the Bureau of Meteorology’s updated forecast issued on Monday.
The bureau expects possible rainfall of 1 to 15 millimetres, with an 80% chance of rain. Showers and a thunderstorm are most likely in the afternoon and evening. Tuesday’s forecast maximum is 31 degrees Celsius.
Meteorologist Liam Smart told The Sydney Morning Herald that rainfall totals would depend on where storms developed. He cautioned that some places could receive substantial rain while others remained dry.
The latest official outlook predicts a maximum of 26 degrees on Wednesday and 24 on Thursday. It therefore differs from the newspaper’s earlier account of temperatures falling to about 21 degrees from late Wednesday. Further showers are forecast later in the week.
