Tilak Varma reaches 50 catches for India in men’s T20 internationals
Tilak Varma became the fifth Indian outfielder to reach 50 catches in men’s Twenty20 internationals during the third match against West Indies in Indore on October 11, 2026.
The milestone came in Varma’s 68th T20 international appearance. He joined Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli on India’s list of players with at least 50 outfield catches in the format.
The Times of India reported Rohit’s total at 65 catches, followed by Hardik on 64, Suryakumar on 58 and Kohli on 54. These figures concern fielding catches, rather than wicketkeepers’ catches or stumpings.
Varma also scored 28 runs from 16 balls before being run out. India posted 223 and won by 14 runs after West Indies finished on 209/7. The result gave India a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
