Rospotrebnadzor requests details of reported Coxsackie cases in nurseries
Russia's consumer and public health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor sent an official request to a media outlet following a report of alleged Coxsackie virus cases in Russian nurseries.
The agency asked for all available information. Baza had reported illnesses among children and suggested that peers returning from foreign trips could have brought the infection.
Rospotrebnadzor said it had received no reports confirming that proposed route of transmission among children. The agency reported no increase in enterovirus illness in Russia during its reporting week.
