Rossotrudnichestvo plans MFC-style service centre at Russian House in Tashkent

Russians living abroad will be able to access some services through a model similar to Russia’s multifunctional public service centres. The first such project is being prepared at the Russian House in Tashkent, Rossotrudnichestvo head Igor Chaika said.

In a report published on October 7, Chaika said the agency aims to develop Russian Houses as venues for Russian digital services and technology. He described the future centre as more than a cultural and language hub, saying compatriots abroad would also be able to use it to deal with practical matters.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko announced the plan at the Digital Solutions forum. Chaika called the Tashkent project an important example of the agency’s work and said such centres should demonstrate how Russian technologies can be used abroad.

Interfax has also reported that an MFC-style centre is being prepared at the Russian House in Tashkent. The outlet said the project would provide access to some public services. Reports have not specified a launch date.
