Rostov-on-Don declares emergency on streets damaged in air attack

Rostov-on-Don authorities declared an emergency within streets damaged during an overnight air attack. City head Aleksandr Skryabin announced the decision on October 10 after an extraordinary commission meeting.
Preliminary city information indicated damage to apartment buildings, private homes and infrastructure in three districts. The measure applies to affected streets rather than automatically covering the whole city.
Skryabin ordered operational teams and commissions to assess the consequences. Officials are to inspect damaged areas, document losses and receive residents’ applications for financial assistance.
Governor Yuri Slyusar reported more than 100 drones shot down over the Rostov region overnight. Russia’s Defence Ministry reported more than 500 interceptions nationally during the night of October 10.
Reports from other regions also mentioned casualties and damage to an enterprise and gas pipeline in the Belgorod region, and power outages after a strike on a substation in the Oryol region.
