Russia and China agree to coordinate preparations for December G20 summit

Russia and China agreed to coordinate their approaches ahead of the G20 summit in Miami on 14–15 December 2026. The commitment appears in the joint communique from their 31st regular heads-of-government meeting.
The countries intend to strengthen G20 cooperation on global economic and financial issues. The document calls for open and stable markets, production and logistics chains, and stronger representation of developing countries in international economic institutions.
Moscow and Beijing also said they would defend the forum's economic mandate, preserve its membership and support non-discriminatory participation by all members. Their stated principles include depoliticising its work and making decisions by consensus.
The United States will chair the summit in Miami.
