Russian, Azerbaijani and Iranian leaders discuss energy cooperation

Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Masoud Pezeshkian discussed cooperation in several fields, including energy, at a separate meeting in Turkmenistan, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov described the three-way discussion to reporters on October 9. He said the leaders considered different forms of cooperation across several areas and specifically mentioned energy. The other areas of cooperation were not listed in the remarks reported by RIA Novosti.
The meeting took place in Turkmenbashi during the leaders’ visit to Turkmenistan. Interfax also confirmed the separate meeting between Vladimir Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Masoud Pezeshkian, citing Peskov. The spokesman’s comments concerned the agenda of the conversation. They did not identify energy projects, financial terms, implementation deadlines or signed documents. The account therefore establishes that cooperation was discussed, without establishing that the three countries concluded a specific agreement.
