Saudi-led coalition reports projectile falling near Dammam airport

Saudi-led coalition spokesman Turki al-Maliki said a projectile had fallen in the vicinity of King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

RIA Novosti relayed his statement, posted on X, on October 11. He identified the area of the airport in eastern Saudi Arabia. The statement does not say a terminal was struck.

The National also reported the incident, citing the coalition spokesman. The reported statement gives no casualty figure, damage estimate or identification of who fired the projectile.

The incident is separate from the October 10 attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, where aviation authorities reported 12 deaths and more than 300 injuries. Those figures do not describe the Dammam incident, whose consequences were not specified.
