Rawalpindi imposes gathering and drone restrictions until 8 November

Authorities in Pakistan's Rawalpindi district have imposed 30 days of restrictions under Section 144, running from 10 October until 8 November.
Deputy Commissioner Nadeem Nasir issued the order after the district intelligence committee warned of threats to sensitive installations, major roads and other infrastructure. The warning represents the authorities' assessment, rather than a report of an attack that has already occurred.
Dawn reports that the order prohibits public gatherings of more than five people, the open display of weapons and dangerous implements, drone use and attempts to remove police restrictions regulating assemblies and traffic.
The measures come amid the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf march. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's chief minister said he intended to lead the convoy towards Islamabad. Separate restrictions already apply in the capital and in Lahore, where an order runs until 15 October. Their terms differ, so exemptions in one district should not automatically be assumed to apply elsewhere.
