Zenit beat Krasnodar 3–2 to take Russian Premier League lead

Zenit won 3–2 away to Krasnodar in the Russian Premier League’s tenth round on October 10, taking first place and inflicting the hosts’ first defeat of the season.
Maksim Glushenkov scored in the 40th minute and the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time. Aleksandr Sobolev added a third in the 53rd. João Batchi replied in the 55th and Jhon Córdoba in the 71st. Krasnodar defender Vitor Tormena was sent off in the 80th.
Both teams had 21 points, with Zenit ahead on tiebreakers. Spartak were third on 20.
Krasnodar dropped points for a fourth consecutive round after draws with Krylya Sovetov, 2–2, Akron, 1–1, and Orenburg, 0–0. They visit Lokomotiv on October 17. Zenit host Akhmat on October 18.
