Road services in Russia's Smolensk region received 23 new vehicles and pieces of equipment in 2026, Governor Vasily Anokhin said. The machinery was distributed to the regional capital and surrounding districts.

Four new multipurpose MAZ road vehicles are operating in Smolensk with locally manufactured attachments. They wash and sweep roads in summer and clear snow and spread de-icing materials in winter. The city also received a vacuum sweeper for roads and roadside drainage channels.

Yelnya received a pile-driving rig for road and safety barriers, along with a trailer-mounted compressor. An asphalt plant in Verkhovye, in Kholm-Zhirkovsky district, received vehicle scales to measure its asphalt output.

Graders for levelling dirt and gravel roads were sent to Smolensk, Dukhovshchina and Gagarin. Trucks were purchased for Yelnya, Roslavl and Smolensk to carry asphalt and construction aggregates.
