State Duma deputy Shagimuratov submits resignation

Konstantin Shagimuratov, a State Duma deputy from A Just Russia, has decided to resign early, RBC reported on October 16, citing a draft parliamentary resolution and the party’s press service.
The document provides for Shagimuratov’s departure on the basis of his written resignation. He was elected through the party’s federal candidate list. Vedomosti reported that the lower house could consider the matter at its October 20 sitting.
A Just Russia’s press service told RBC that the decision was Shagimuratov’s own.
The seat would be reassigned under the procedure established by law, the party said. Other candidates in the relevant territorial group could receive it. Alternatively, the presidium of the party’s central council could decide to transfer it to a candidate from another group.
