Semenyo faces around eight weeks out through injury

Manchester City winger Antoine Semenyo is expected to miss around eight weeks after being injured against Ipswich. Manager Enzo Maresca gave the recovery estimate ahead of the Champions League meeting with AEK Athens.

City won the Premier League match 3–2, but Semenyo left the pitch limping. Maresca said the club had initially feared a more serious injury before the results of a scan eased those concerns.

The manager said the problem was not muscular. He expects the winger to return around December, once he has recovered and can contribute to the team again.

Manchester City lead the Premier League with 21 points from seven matches. Their next fixture is at home to AEK Athens on October 20 in the Champions League league phase.
