Austrian Airlines finds no danger on flight diverted to Sofia

A search of the Austrian Airlines aircraft diverted to Sofia after a bomb threat found no danger. The flight continued to Vienna with all passengers, the airline said on October 19.

Flight OS82 from Tel Aviv changed course on the evening of October 18. The crew reported the threat as the aircraft approached the Romanian border, BTA reported, citing Bulgarian authorities. MiG-29 fighter jets were scrambled to escort the plane.

The aircraft, passengers and crew were searched in Sofia. Austrian Airlines said passengers then reboarded and the service continued the same night.

The Airbus A320 carried 51 passengers and six crew members.
