Two Indian sailors missing after tanker attack off Oman
Nine Indian sailors were rescued and two remain missing after an attack on MT Petro Dolphin off Oman on October 11. India's Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal announced the incident.
According to the minister, the tanker carrying 11 Indian seafarers was hit by a drone at Sohar Anchorage. The rescued crew members are safe.
The local coast guard is continuing a search-and-rescue operation. Sonowal said Indian authorities were coordinating with the relevant agencies to support the search and locate the missing sailors.
The minister's statement did not identify the two missing crew members, attribute the attack or describe damage to the tanker. Missing status does not amount to confirmation of death.
