Two teenagers charged after man's stabbing death in Sydney
A 13-year-old boy has been charged with murder over a man's death in Mount Druitt, Sydney, while a 16-year-old has been charged as an accessory after the fact. Both were arrested on Oct. 11.
The man was found with stab wounds to his torso on Cleeve Close shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9. He died at the scene. The location is in Sydney's west, near a shopping center and railway station.
The younger boy was arrested at Mount Druitt Police Station. In addition to murder, he was charged with breaching bail and a separate robbery unrelated to the man's death.
The older boy was arrested at a home in Cabramatta. His charge concerns alleged assistance after the murder, rather than inflicting the fatal wounds.
Detectives are continuing to establish the circumstances of the attack and examine CCTV and mobile phone footage. Police believe about 12 people may have been present. The charges do not establish the teenagers' guilt.
