Tim Tszyu to face Erislandy Lara for WBA middleweight title

No Limit Boxing announced that Australia’s Tim Tszyu will face Cuba’s Erislandy Lara for the WBA middleweight title. The date and venue will be announced later.
The company’s announcement appeared on Oct. 13. Boxing publications Big Fight Weekend and Bad Left Hook also reported it. The parties had previously discussed a possible meeting, and the promoter has now confirmed the matchup.
Tszyu is a former world champion at super welterweight. The proposed encounter with Lara is in a different division, middleweight.
The Australian is 31 and has a professional record of 28 wins, including 18 knockouts, and three defeats.
Lara, 43, has 32 wins, including 19 knockouts, three defeats and three draws.
Reports suggesting a possible month do not replace an official date. No Limit Boxing’s announcement does not provide a final day or venue for the fight.
