Torpedo switch to club bus for Leningradets fixture after flight cancellation

Moscow club Torpedo will travel to St Petersburg by bus for their First League match against Leningradets after their flight was cancelled, communications director Dmitry Ganichev said.

Players, coaches and administrative staff had boarded the Moscow–St Petersburg flight when the captain announced an indefinite delay following the introduction of the Kover airspace restriction plan. Ganichev said passengers spent an hour and a half on board before returning to the terminal and learning that the flight had been cancelled.

The club then decided to use its team bus. Players and coaches plan to stay overnight at a hotel in St Petersburg before heading to Roshchino the following morning for the fixture.

The round 13 match is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, at 2 p.m. Moscow time. Torpedo enter the round in sixth place with 21 points, while Leningradets are 14th with 13.
