Trabzonspor visit Samsunspor on Saturday, October 10, looking to build on a 4-0 win over Galatasaray in their previous league match.
The Black Sea derby is scheduled for 16:00 local time at Samsun 19 May Stadium, according to the clubs’ fixture information. Trabzonspor have 10 points from six matches, while Samsunspor have four.
The previous round’s 4-0 result marked the start of Thomas Reis’s spell as Trabzonspor coach. Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick in that match, according to Anadolu Agency. Reis previously coached Samsunspor and led the club to its first qualification for the Europa League before leaving earlier this year.
Samsunspor come into the fixture after four consecutive defeats. They scored once and conceded nine goals across those four league games, the figures cited in Al Jazeera’s preview.
Trabzonspor beat Samsunspor 3-0 in February. Their most recent meeting, in the Turkish Cup in April, ended 0-0 before Trabzonspor advanced on penalties. That result extended Trabzonspor’s unbeaten run against Samsunspor to four games in all competitions.
