Ukraine's central bank denies reports of Governor Pyshnyy's resignation
The National Bank of Ukraine has denied media reports that Governor Andriy Pyshnyy has resigned, describing the claims as rumours.
The reports followed news of searches. The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine confirmed investigative activity at the central bank and at an employee's home without identifying the employee.
Ukrainian lawmaker Yaroslav Zhelezniak claimed the searches concerned Pyshnyy. According to NABU information reported by Ukrainian financial news outlet Minfin, no one was detained or served with a notice of suspicion during the searches.
