Ushakov says Putin–Trump meeting has not been discussed concretely
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said a bilateral meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump had not yet been discussed in concrete terms. RIA Novosti reported his statement after the presidents’ October 9 telephone call.
Ushakov described the leaders’ conversation late on October 9. His clarification distinguishes that completed telephone contact from a possible future meeting in person. He did not announce concrete arrangements for a bilateral summit.
The statement does not establish an agreed date or venue, nor does it amount to a rejection of future contacts. URA.ru, reporting Ushakov’s briefing, likewise said no specific date for a personal meeting was discussed during the call. The confirmed presidential contact was therefore by telephone, while an in-person meeting remained without concrete parameters at the time of the statement.
